Programming requires the technician to understand the problem and to write custom code in a programming language to realize a function. Altronic DE-4000 development engineers worked with in-the field application experts to gather critical information that allowed the engineers to develop this comprehensive, highly configurable system. A large number of DE-4000 System applications can be configured without the need for custom programming. However, when a custom requirement is needed, a simple, readable, script type of programming has been implemented in the DE-4000 System.

+To begin updating, download the new firmware version onto an empty flash drive and insert it into the USB port on the DE-4000. The flash drive needs 30 seconds to mount properly and display the firmware to the Controller Board.

+Press System Info to enter the Firmware tab. Pressing the Refresh key in the bottom left should change the buttons to the right of each module version from “No Firmware Available” to “Firmware Available”. This change will only apply to the modules which have updated files in the USB.

+When update is completed a popup message will say that the update was successfully completed. Press close on this popup. If updating a Control or Terminal Board the page will remain on the System info page. If updating the Web Application when you press the close button the web page will do a forced reload to allow the new web application to be properly loaded after the update. This will force the User Interface back to the Dashboard Home page.
